Gavin Goodman joined a curated group of international creatives to respond to a deliberately open brief for a global campaign for luggage brand DELSEY Paris. The structure was simple yet expansive: three images, three bags from the collection, each interpreted through a distinct personal lens.
Developed as a fully AI-led campaign, Gavin worked from photographic references of the luggage, using them as the foundation to build out each scene. The result is a series where product fidelity is preserved, while the surrounding worlds are entirely constructed.
Drawing on the visual language of African modernist painting, Gavin created bold, abstracted landscapes as the backdrop for a series of contemporary African travellers. The environments feel painterly and geometric, with styling that is sharp and considered. Each bag is placed within a world that feels authored rather than assembled.
It was a rare kind of brief, where the only true constraint was the product itself. Everything else was open to interpretation, allowing for a piece of work that feels both culturally grounded and creatively unconstrained.
